Where it fits

What the VDS 200Q is used for

Cranking, dropouts, resets and superimposed ripple are supply waveforms, and a bench power supply cannot follow them or absorb the current a DUT pushes back. The VDS 200Qx.2 sources and sinks in all four quadrants, which is what the profiles of ISO 16750-2 and the manufacturer standards require.

It has a second job on the bench: it is the DC supply for the DUT during ISO 7637 transient tests, connected through the coupling network of the UCS 200N.
