Cranking, dropouts, resets and superimposed ripple are supply waveforms, and a bench power supply cannot follow them or absorb the current a DUT pushes back. The VDS 200Qx.2 sources and sinks in all four quadrants, which is what the profiles of ISO 16750-2 and the manufacturer standards require.
