Normalised site attenuation, normalised site insertion loss, site VSWR, ALSE performance validation and shielding effectiveness measured under LAB Support Ltd.'s A2LA accredited ISO/IEC 17025 scope, always on your site, by the LAB Support Southeast Asia team.
CISPR 16-1-4 and ANSI C63.4 require a semi-anechoic chamber or OATS to demonstrate normalised site attenuation within 4 dB from 30 MHz to 1 GHz and site VSWR within 6 dB above 1 GHz before emission measurements are valid there. CISPR 25 adds the ALSE performance validation for automotive chambers, and shielded rooms are qualified by shielding effectiveness. Assessors ask for these records at every surveillance.
| Parameter | Range | Common methods and standards |
|---|---|---|
| Normalised site attenuation (NSA) | 30 MHz to 1 GHz | CISPR 16-1-4, ANSI C63.4, VCCI V-3, network analyser with calibration kit |
| Site VSWR (SVSWR) | 1 GHz to 18 GHz | CISPR 16-1-4 |
| Normalised site insertion loss (NSIL) | 9 kHz to 30 MHz | CISPR 16-1-4 Annex, loop antennas |
| ALSE performance validation | 150 kHz to 1 GHz | CISPR 25 Annex I, network analyser or spectrum analyser |
| Shielding effectiveness | 9 kHz to 18 GHz | EN 50147-1, IEEE 299, MIL-STD-285 |
The methods and standards shown are the ones most commonly requested. Within each parameter and range listed on the accredited scope, other calibration methods and standard editions can be supported under the flexible-scope provisions of LAB Support's A2LA accreditation. The measurement uncertainty for each parameter is stated on the certificate. Field calibration is included in the scope for every line above.
From our own calibration records. Any instrument within the scope can be calibrated; these are the ones we see most.
Typically two days for NSA and SVSWR together, plus half a day for ALSE performance if the chamber is used for CISPR 25.
By the CISPR 16-1-4 method: a transmit antenna at the six positions and both polarisations, with the receive antenna at the test distance, from 1 GHz to 18 GHz. The report shows the SVSWR at each position against the 6 dB limit.
Yes. Field uniformity verification of the 16-point grid to IEC 61000-4-3 is offered as a verification service, outside the accredited scope, and can be done in the same visit so the chamber is checked for emission and immunity together.
