Attenuator, cable, coupler and amplifier calibration to 40 GHz

S-parameters, insertion loss, return loss, coupling factor, directivity and amplifier gain of RF components calibrated on site under LAB Support Ltd.'s A2LA accredited ISO/IEC 17025 scope.

Why it matters

Cables and attenuators are corrections in every EMC measurement

Every radiated and conducted emission result subtracts a cable loss, and every immunity system relies on coupler and attenuator values to set forward power. These corrections drift with connector wear and cable flexing, so the components are calibrated on a schedule. All of them are covered under one S-parameter capability from 5 Hz to 40 GHz.

  • Insertion loss and return loss of cables, attenuators and adapters
  • Coupling factor and directivity of directional couplers
  • Amplifier and preamplifier gain and flatness
  • Adapters and transitions between connector families

The methods and standards shown are the ones most commonly requested. Within each parameter and range listed on the accredited scope, other calibration methods and standard editions can be supported under the flexible-scope provisions of LAB Support's A2LA accreditation. The measurement uncertainty for each parameter is stated on the certificate. Field calibration is included in the scope for every line above.

Frequently asked

Questions we are asked

Which connector families are covered?

N, SMA, 3.5 mm, 2.92 mm, 2.4 mm, BNC and 7/16 with the corresponding calibration kits. Tell us the connectors and adapters you use so the right kits come.

Can high-power amplifiers be calibrated in the system?

Yes. Amplifier gain and flatness are measured at the drive levels you use, and the coupler and power sensor in the same path are calibrated at the same visit.

Do you provide the cable loss table in the format my software needs?

The certificate tabulates insertion loss at the frequencies you specify. Data files for BAT-EMC, Compliance Test Studio and EMC32 correction tables can be supplied on request.

Which countries do you cover on site?

Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam, with Penang as the base. Other locations on request.
