Why it matters

The receiver is the last link, and CISPR 16-1-1 expects it to be verified

An EMI receiver must meet CISPR 16-1-1 for absolute accuracy, bandwidths, quasi-peak, average and RMS-average detector response, overload behaviour and pulse response. The manufacturer's self-test does not cover these against traceable standards. An ISO/IEC 17025 certificate with the receiver's measured amplitude error at the frequencies you use is what your uncertainty budget and your assessor need.

Questions we are asked

Are CISPR detectors verified with real pulses?

Yes. Quasi-peak, average and RMS-average detector response is checked with the pulse repetition rates CISPR 16-1-1 lists, not only with CW signals.

Can the receiver's preamplifier and preselector paths be included?

Yes. Amplitude accuracy is measured with and without the preamplifier, and with the preselector where fitted, so all the paths you use are covered.

Does calibration include adjustment?

The certificate reports measured values. Where the manufacturer allows user adjustment it can be performed and the instrument re-measured; otherwise out-of-tolerance results are reported for your action.

Which countries do you cover on site?

Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam, with Penang as the base. Other locations on request.
