What the 2000S1G2z8 is used for

1 GHz to 2.8 GHz is the L-band and lower S-band, where surveillance radar, navigation and mobile communication services sit. At 2 kW this used to be tube territory. A solid-state Class A amplifier has no tube to age, no warm-up and far lower harmonics, and it keeps working into a mismatched horn.
