What the 10000SP2G4 is used for

Radar does not illuminate a vehicle or an aircraft with a continuous wave. It sends short pulses at very high peak power, and the radar pulse tests of vehicle manufacturer specifications, of MIL-STD-461 RS103 and of RTCA/DO-160 Section 20 reproduce that with pulse modulation at a low duty cycle. A CW amplifier sized for the peak would be many times larger than necessary. A pulsed amplifier is built for exactly this duty, and 2 GHz to 4 GHz is the S-band where air surveillance and weather radars operate.

Calibrated on site, by the people who supplied it
