The NSG 438 is widely used in automotive and compliance laboratories. It covers practically every international standard and, through its range of optional discharge networks, the ESD standards of the vehicle manufacturers.
All settings, including polarity, repetition rate, counters and discharge detection, are available up to the maximum voltage. The discharge detector has an adjustable threshold and can be switched off when the EUT surface is non-conductive, such as a plastic housing.
ESD simulators are within the accredited scope, including the NSG 438 and NSG 438A and the older Schaffner NSG 438. The NSG 438 meets the 2025 edition of IEC 61000-4-2. Calibration is carried out in your laboratory by the LAB Support Southeast Asia team, under the A2LA accredited ISO/IEC 17025 scope of LAB Support Ltd.
