6 GHz to 18 GHz covers the C, X and Ku radar bands. MIL-STD-461 RS103 runs to 18 GHz as standard, ISO 11452-2 reaches 18 GHz, and RTCA/DO-160 Section 20 goes there too. Hundreds of watts in this band once meant a TWT amplifier with its warm-up, its harmonics and a tube to replace. The 450S6G18C is the highest-power solid-state model AR lists for the band.
