We process personal data under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 of Malaysia. This notice explains what we collect, why we collect it, who processes it on our behalf and how to reach us about it.
- We collect personal data only when you send us an enquiry or contact us directly.
- The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Visitor statistics are collected without cookies and without storing IP addresses.
- We use your details to answer you and to carry out any work that follows, and for nothing else unless you ask us to.
- You may ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or have it deleted by writing to [email protected].
What we collect and why
The enquiry form
When you send the form on our contact page we receive the details you type: your name, company, email address, telephone number if you give it, the topic you choose, your message and the page you came from. Our systems also record the time the enquiry arrived, the country it came from and the IP address it came from. The country and IP address are used to filter automated spam and to investigate misuse of the form.
We use this information to answer your enquiry, to prepare a quotation or proposal if you ask for one, and to carry out any calibration, supply or consulting work that follows. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not pass your details to anyone for marketing.
Contacting us directly
If you email, telephone or message us on WhatsApp, we receive whatever you choose to send and use it in the same way. Messages sent through WhatsApp are also handled by WhatsApp under its own terms and privacy policy.
What the site records on its own
- Contact taps. When you tap a WhatsApp, telephone or email link, or when the enquiry form is sent, the site records that this happened, together with the page, the page language, the country and whether the device was a phone or a computer. No IP address, cookie or identifier is stored with it, so these records cannot be linked to you.
- Visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and to see which pages are read, where visitors come from and how quickly pages load. It works without cookies, does not store IP addresses and does not build a profile of individual visitors.
- Spam protection on the form. The enquiry form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that the sender is a person and not an automated script. To do this, Turnstile processes signals from your connection and browser and may set a cookie for the duration of that check. This processing is described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Who processes data on our behalf
We use three service providers. Cloudflare serves this website, provides the visitor statistics and the spam check, and receives every request to the site as part of serving it. Google provides our email and document service: enquiries are delivered to our mailbox and kept in a spreadsheet in our Google Workspace account. WhatsApp carries messages you choose to send that way. Each of these providers may store data on servers outside Malaysia. We use only providers that commit contractually to protecting the data they handle for us.
How long we keep it
Enquiry records are kept while we deal with your enquiry and any business that follows, and afterwards for as long as our business and accounting records require. You may ask us to delete your enquiry at any time, and we will do so unless a legal or accounting obligation requires us to keep it. The contact-tap records contain nothing that identifies you. Visitor statistics are held by Cloudflare under its own retention periods.
Your rights
Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 you may ask for access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your consent to our processing it, and ask us to stop using it for a particular purpose. To exercise any of these, write to [email protected] or to the postal address below. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Personal Data Protection Department of Malaysia (Jabatan Perlindungan Data Peribadi).
